Our story

Born in Lenyenye.
Built for everyone.

Community, movement and impact since 2022.

Where it began

A local health initiative became a regional race-day movement.

The Lenyenye Colour Run & Fun Walk was initiated in 2022 by the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Lenyenye Township, Section A, with a mission to promote health outreach and strengthen social cohesion.

What began with 5km and 10km routes rapidly attracted runners, families and community partners from across Limpopo. It created a place where serious exercise and community celebration could exist side by side.

2022

The first colour run

The AME Church launches a community event focused on health awareness, active living and stronger community relationships.

2023–24

The community grows

The annual run builds momentum, drawing a broader mix of runners, walkers, families, sponsors and local organisations.

2025

The Half Marathon arrives

A strategic partnership with Letaba Road Runners Athletic Club introduces the inaugural 21.1km Lenyenye Half Marathon.

2026

Five years of movement

The 5th anniversary of the overall movement and the 2nd Annual Lenyenye Half Marathon & Colour Run - with Cancer Awareness at the centre of the campaign.
